सौंदर्य लहरी: सुंदरता की लहरें

"सौंदर्य लहरी" (सanskrit: <span lang="sa">सौन्दर्यलहरी</span>, <small>romanized: </small><span title="Sanskrit-language romanization"><i lang="sa-Latn">Saundaryalaharī</i></span>, <small>lit. </small>'सुंदरता की लहरें') संस्कृत साहित्य का एक प्रसिद्ध काम है जो पुष्पदंत और आदि शंकराचार्य दोनों को आरोपित किया गया है। कुछ का मानना है कि पहला भाग "आनंद लहरी" मेरु पर्वत पर गणेश स्वयं (या पुष्पदंत द्वारा) उत्कीर्ण किया गया था।

शंकराचार्य के गुरु गोविंद भगवत्पाद के गुरु ऋषि गौड़पाद ने पुष्पदंत के लेखन को याद रखा था जो आदि शंकराचार्य तक पहुँचा।

इसके सौ तीन श्लोक (पद्य) त्रिपुरा सुंदरी की सुंदरता, अनुग्रह और उदारता की प्रशंसा करते हैं, जिन्हें पार्वती के रूप में माना जाता है।

डब्ल्यू. नॉर्मन ब्राउन ने इसका अंग्रेजी में अनुवाद किया था जिसे 1958 में हार्वर्ड ओरिएंटल सीरीज़ के वॉल्यूम 43 के रूप में प्रकाशित किया गया था।

The Saundarya Lahari is a famous literary work in Sanskrit attributed to Pushpadanta as well as Adi Shankara. Some believe the first part "Ananda Lahari" was etched on mount Meru by Ganesha himself. Sage Gaudapada, the teacher of Shankar's teacher Govinda Bhagavadpada, memorised the writings of Pushpadanta which was carried down to Adi Shankara. Its hundred and three shlokas (verses) praise the beauty, grace and munificence of Tripura Sundari as a form of Parvati. W. Norman Brown translated it to English which was published as volume 43 of the Harvard Oriental Series in 1958.
