HYMN XLII

A prayer for delivery from sin and sickness

Scatter and drive away, Soma and Rudra, the sickness that hath
come within our dwelling,
Afar into the distance chase Destruction, and even from commit-
ted sin release us.
Lay on our bodies, O ye twain, O Soma and Rudra, all those
balms that heal diseases.
Set free and draw away the sin committed, which we have still
inherent in our persons.
