HYMN XLVIII
A prayer for prosperity and the birth of a son
I call on Raka with hair laud and reverent cry: may she,
auspicious, hear us and herself observe.
With never-breaking needle may she sew her work, and send a
glorious man who gives a hundred gifts.
All thy kind favours, Raka! lovely in their form, wherewith
thou grantest treasures to the man who gives,
With these come thou to us this day benevolent, O blessed one,
bestowing wealth of thousand sorts.
